Artist's Comments

I've recently moved over to using Linux, in the form of Ubuntu, for my day to day computer usage, restricting my WinXP install to a pure games platform. This has proven a great move so far, although I've yet to try any photo editing in Linux, using my Windows Photoshop elements 5 running under Wine.

Try GIMP!

Its free and nice. full functionallity. The only bad thing is it is for a well trained PS user a quite big change..

different way how to do some things. layer management ..

mostly i dont like this extra windows and that iam not able to save some my own window config what opens EVERYTIME i start GIMP. It's pissing me off.

Anyway its free. :)
Also available for windows. All plattforms are supported (Win, Mac, Linux..)

Nice you already did this step what i want to do for ages now. I hope one day I will succeed! Iam not sure.

Greetings from Warsaw my dear friend!

I'll certainly give it a go, just didn;t want to waste to money I'd spent on Photoshop :)

Hi. I rescently moved from Windows XP to Ubuntu (Using the lovely Wubi, found on download.com). But I love drawing, yet I don't know how to get photoshop (or anything for the matter) that will allow me to draw. Gimp came with it, but Gimp, in my opinion, is just horrible. Do you know anything I can use to draw with my tablet?
I'd very much appreciate it if you replied to me via email at:

Thank you,
Josh.

You should be able to get Photoshop working via WINE, I certainly managed to get Elements 5 working that way.
